About

The goal of this web site is to be a community resource for Internet users in the Austin area. At this time our focus is the Time-Warner Cable plan to deploy metered Internet service.

Here is the April 13, 2009 press announcement (384KB PDF document) that introduced this site.

This web site was created by Chip Rosenthal. Chip is a recognized leader of the community technology movement in Texas. He is a founder of the longest-running free Internet training program in Texas. He was nominated for the Dewey Winburne Community Service Award for this effort. He currently chairs the City of Austin Community Technology and Telecommunications Commission, which advises the Austin City Council on technology matters.
